I am a self-taught artist and have been drawing since I was 2 years old. The only art related classes I have had was Commercial Art which I took for 4 years in the Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School. These classes did not teach me how to draw in the style that I have developed, but yet it had allowed me to see the commercial aspects of design. Unfortunately after graduating I realized I did not want to venture into the commercial field. Most of my designs consist of black ball-point pen and India (or archival) ink. Using a ball-point pen allows me to add detailed shading, while the India (or archival) ink helps to create nice, clean outlines and fills. I have recently been experimenting with color and also have been learning how to use Photoshop and Illustrator. My ideas and designs come to me at random. They mostly pop into my mind while being in a stressful environment. From time to time I will create a design for a company or store. It is difficult for me to create a design that someone wants. This makes me feel that the idea is suddenly not mine. Creating what comes from my imagination is what I do best. These ideas may be somewhat bizarre or dark, but they do not reflect my real personality.
